Unveiling the World of Fashion: Our Story and Philosophy

Amii attributes her success entirely to her grandmother, who inspired her passion for fashion from a young age. Beginning with sewing clothes for her dolls at just five years old, Amii's creativity blossomed when she moved to the United States from Jamaica as a teenager. She took on the challenge of designing and sewing her clothes, notably transforming a red dress given to her by her step-sister, who wore a size 22, into a perfect fit for her own size 10 frame. This remarkable feat of hand-sewing left her family in awe of her natural talent.

After moving out on her own, Amii saved up for her first sewing machine. One evening, while watching the classic film “Guess Who's Coming for Dinner?” featuring Sidney Poitier and Katharine Hepburn, she was captivated by a stunning peach and pink swing tent dress. Inspired, she created her first dress in 1980, although she never ended up wearing it. The dress was forgotten in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy when she lost many personal belongings, only to be rediscovered in 2025. This rediscovery reignited her passion and served as a reminder of her lifelong aspiration to become a designer.

Despite having minimal formal training, Amii continued to design her clothing over the years, receiving countless compliments for her work. Sewing has always been her passion, and it flourished even more with the arrival of her beautiful baby girl. Inspired by the stunning collections at Saks Fifth Avenue, she found fresh ideas for designs that captivated her creativity. Her daughter, even as a baby, showcased remarkable and stylish outfits that turned heads and left a lasting impression.

Recently, she met incredible individuals who have helped her take significant strides toward achieving her dreams. Amii holds her grandmother's wisdom close: “Never let the clothes wear you, you wear the clothes,” a reminder that fashion is about confidence and self-expression rather than price tags. Another lesson from her grandmother is to avoid simply following trends; she advises aiming for designs that possess classic elegance, ensuring they endure through time.
